The Blessing in the Purge

Many of us are scared to even begin thinking about getting rid of our stuff. Especially for some individuals who were raised a certain way, it can be super disruptive and frustrating to their lives to even think about letting go of their belongings.

However, the easiest way to organize is by purging what you no longer need or use. Families can rearrange and reorganize the clutter all they want, but it’s in the paring down of all of the stuff that true freedom and peace can be attained during the process of organizing. As Marie Kondo teaches, there is a time to say goodbye to those items that no longer serve us or have a place in our homes. They once served their purpose but it’s okay to say thank you and let them go.

In our country, we have a lot of things. Materialism is on the rise in America and is linked to depression and anxiety in our children as well as in us. To put an end to this “pandemic” of sorts, generosity is key. Start thinking of how your stuff that you no longer use or like can be used by families in need. There are non-profit organizations in abundance where you can donate clothes, food, and furniture to those who need it more than you.

Momma Method works to find the right organization to donate items if you want them to go some place other than the nearest Goodwill. Just ask! We’d love to help you find peace in your homes but also experience the joy of generosity in giving to others.
